Corporate Event Planner, Leadership Training Programs – Chapel Hill, NC
Bell Leadership Institute, a well-established and respected leadership training and development company located in the heart of Chapel Hill, NC, is seeking an energetic, highly motivated, hardworking professional with exceptional people skills and attention to detail to join our team as Event Planner, Training Programs and Services.
The Corporate Event Planner will work closely with our trainers and client service team members to drive and coordinate a portfolio of public and custom leadership training programs. This position manages all aspects of programs from planning to execution, and will be directly responsible for registrations, client support, material preparation, communications, and coordinating logistics. The work environment is collaborative, client-focused, fast-paced, and excellence-driven.
- Plan and execute all conference logistics; provide oversight of resource scheduling, staffing, production coordination, and marketing requirements.
- Carry out administrative events management tasks including preparing schedules and maintaining schedule changes, conducting planning meetings, preparing estimates, addressing issues, communicating facility requirements, and monitoring budget and contractual agreements.
- Monitor all operations during events.
- Build, manage, and cultivate vendor relationships.
- Support and coordinate client outreach and communications to clients and prospective clients.
- Foster and build client relationships. Identify business opportunities.
- Work with business development / marketing teams to build strong client pipeline for future programs.
- Maintain reports, event documentation, records, and files.
- Assist with event marketing activities as required.
- Facilitate communication between relevant teams.
- At least two years of event planning experience in a professional business setting with major focus on customer service.
- Project management experience related to large scale trainings.
- Budget management skills.
- Ability to problem solve when unexpected issues or changes arise.
- Demonstrated track record of building client relationships.
- Adept at juggling many tasks.
- Capability to master complex administrative systems and processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Creative thinker who helps build memorable experiences for event attendees.
- Strong organizational skills, including ability to prioritize workload, anticipate needs, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work well independently and in a team setting.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to help people.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. Experience with database management programs a plus.
