Based in Chapel Hill, NC, we are a small, family-oriented firm delivering world-class training and executive coaching rooted in deep personal insight, practical tools, and lasting change. Our collaborative team is passionate about leadership and dedicated to helping individuals and organizations grow.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a driven, strategic, and collaborative professional to serve as our Strategic Business Development & Accounts Manager. This role combines relationship-building with a strong focus on establishing the structure, processes, and tools needed to proactively manage client accounts and drive sustainable growth. You’ll play a key role in:

• Helping Bell implement a consistent, proactive account management approach.
• Using client data and analytics to inform business development and marketing strategy.
• Aligning brand, content, and outreach efforts to support revenue growth.

You will attend programs and build client relationships over time with an initial emphasis on putting effective systems in place and helping our team hold ourselves accountable for results. This is an ideal role for a mid-level professional who enjoys cultivating relationships and building infrastructure, leveraging data, and collaborating across business development, marketing, and program delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support growth by identifying and engaging prospective clients that align with our Best Match Client Profile.
  • Help manage and grow a portfolio of existing accounts by continuing to develop long-term relationships with decision-makers.
  • Attend select Bell programs to connect with participants and identify future opportunities.
  • Collaborate with trainers, facilitators, coaches, and program managers to ensure a seamless client experience.
  • Evaluate and improve account management systems, tools, and workflows to support proactive outreach and follow-up.
  • Establish processes for tracking and reporting account activity and progress toward goals.
  • Ensure business development and marketing work hand-in-hand, with messaging and campaigns aligned to growth objectives.
  • Analyze client and prospect data to identify trends, opportunities, and priorities.
  • Use data insights to inform both business development targeting and marketing strategy.
  • Partner with marketing to refine brand positioning and content to better reach ideal clients.

Who You Are

  • A collaborative problem-solver with a bias for action.
  • Skilled at building and improving systems, not just working within them.
  • Comfortable working with client and sales data to make informed decisions.
  • Experienced in B2B business development, account management, or related fields — ideally in professional services, leadership development, or consulting.
  • Able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Passionate about leadership development and making a positive impact on individuals and organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in business development, account management, or related roles.
  • Proven ability to improve systems and processes that drive client growth.
  • Experience using data analytics to inform business decisions.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • MBA a plus. Headquartered in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Bell Leadership Institute is a recognized leader in executive education and development, helping organizations develop leadership mastery through its programs and services since 1972.

  • Health, dental, vision, and retirement benefits.
  • Paid time off.
