TURN THE METER OFF.
We all need to find a way to shift from “work mode” to “relaxation and recharging” each day. With a “normal” commute, the change in setting over time can help us shift from one mode to the other. When that commute is to a side table, down the stairs, or into another room, that natural shift may be missing.
Establish your “I’m going to work” ritual, and your “I’m leaving work” ritual — whether moving furniture, putting a sign on your door, changing clothes or even walking the dog — and commit yourself 100% to whichever mode you are in.
Without the ability to turn it off, it becomes hard to turn it on and truly perform at your best.
