Dr. Gulledge Kicks off the School Year with 300 Hawbridge Students

On September 4th, over 300 of Hawbridge School’s young leaders, teachers, and administrators gathered at the Haw River Ballroom in Saxapahaw, NC to kick off their school year.  Dr. Elizabeth A. Gulledge was invited to present a custom program on dealing with challenges and uncertainty.  The overall theme was about moving out of one’s comfort zone.  The morning began with video clips of teachers dancing and ended with an audience-wide cheer.

The Hawbridge School is a tuition-free public charter school serving students in grades 5-12. Located in a restored mill on the banks of the Haw River in Saxapahaw, it offers an enriched curriculum in environmental studies, the arts, and writing.
