Bell Leadership Institute Kicks Off 2016 with Leadership Trainer & Speaker Dr. Elizabeth Gulledge
Chapel Hill, NC – March 22, 2016 – Bell Leadership Institute, a recognized leader in leadership training and executive development, kicks off 2016 with Dr. Elizabeth A. Gulledge as the newest leadership trainer on their expanding bench. Dr. Gulledge continues to excel as part of the team in delivering Dr. Gerald D. Bell’s mission to create world-class leaders.
Since joining Bell in 2014, Dr. Gulledge has delivered several custom on-site programs on Advanced Communication and Teamwork, as well as Achievers I, Bell Leadership’s foundational program. A recent participant describes their experience: “Her attitude, knowledge and demeanor was as good as I have ever encountered. Elizabeth held the attention of the class continuously with energy and humor.” Most recently, Dr. Gulledge spoke at the Capital Associated Industries’ Annual Conference in Raleigh, North Carolina, on the subject of leadership in human resource management.
Having lived and worked abroad, Dr. Gulledge is delighted to have returned to her home state of North Carolina. “I came to know of Dr. Bell initially through numerous firsthand accounts from accomplished leaders. Each spoke emphatically about the influence he had on their lives and the success of their organizations. Before I even had the opportunity to meet Dr. Bell in person I was witness to his far-reaching impact.”
Dr. Gulledge draws on international experience as an analyst, speaker and published author. Prior to joining Bell Leadership, she taught at the leading business schools in Europe in organizational development and strategic management. Her work on innovation and leadership is published in the foremost business and management publications and she has presented at numerous international conferences in those fields. She received her BA (Political Science) from Duke University, master’s degrees (International Relations and International Business) and PhD (Organizational Theory) from the University of St. Andrews, UK where she attended as a Ransome Scholar. She was a visiting scholar at the Center for Public Policy and Management at Duke University and a Rothemere Scholar at the University of Oxford. Dr. Gulledge brings a deep understanding of the complex challenges of leadership having worked with FORTUNE 500 companies in the entertainment/media and tech industries in Edinburgh, London, Frankfurt and New York, to identify blind spots and overcome obstacles.
Dr. Bell teaches that individuals become effective leaders by understanding themselves. Only then, he says, can they lead and motivate others. “To become an extraordinary leader, you must build your own personality skills. This comes first. You must be what you want your followers to become. No shortcuts, no magic, no easy formula.” To this end, Dr. Gulledge’s exceptional ability to engage and connect with a diverse range of audiences helps individuals develop self-awareness, an essential element of Bell programs and seminars.
