Bell Leadership Institute is located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. It is in the north central portion of North Carolina on the Piedmont Plateau, almost midway between Washington, DC, and Atlanta, Georgia. Chapel Hill was incorporated in 1819 and has a population of approximately 52,000. Nicknamed the "Southern Part of Heaven," it offers the best of small-town living in a unique, cosmopolitan environment.

Chapel Hill is also the home of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the nation's oldest public university, established in 1789.
